28 Weeks

I went in for my 28 week appointment this morning. All is well. I was a little worried that all my ice cream cravings might have had a detrimental effect on my weight, but as the Dr. put it, my weight gain is "spot on." If I continue at this rate, I should be just shy of 30 lbs total (I gained 27 with Claire, so pretty much exactly the same.) My fundal height is also measuring exactly 28 cm, so baby's growing right on track. I also had my glucose screening today and will get the results in the next day or two (3 hours later and the baby is still bouncing off the walls with the sugar buzz!) As for how I'm feeling, things are pretty good. I definitely get tired pretty easily, and certain things are getting harder to do. I do have a lot more aches and pains than I did the first time around. This little baby is active. I thought Claire was active, but I have to say that this baby is even more active. This was the third appointment where the Dr. had trouble getting an accurate heart rate because the baby wouldn't sit still long enough! I'm feeling the punches and kicks all over my belly and they are often quite strong (as in, ouch that kind of hurts!) I'm heading into the most active couple of weeks, before the movements start to slow down as she runs out of room. It's crazy to think that I'm now in the third trimester, heading into the final stretch. It's going so crazy fast!

Whoa, I'm HUGE compared to you! You look absolutely great!

It's so fun comparing pregnancies with someone due the exact same time--I have a really active baby this time, too. And I go for my glucose screening tomorrow! Fun update, time is flying by!

Glad you are feeling pretty good! I'm so excited to see how different this baby is from Claire...I think I imagine each will be just like the first but I know that's just not true. Less than 3 months...wow!

It's fun watching both you and Mindy at the same point in pregnancy, how fun for the two of you to be pregnant together and compare. You look great Nikki!

Quinn LOVED that glucose test...I swear she moved the whole day. I did it in the AM, first thing, before work. SO, I ate an egg, went to the doctor, drank sugar water, and she wouldn't stop moving. At 28 weeks she wanted 2 meals by 8am...so only getting sugar...Needless to say, BK breakfast value meal was as soon as we left...and she moved all day long. That's not a very fun 55 minute drive to Farmington with a stomach that won't stop moving...then a full 8-10 hour day of working and eating...then the hour drive home. I almost remember like it was yesterday, now!

3rd trimester...what? wasn't it just december and you were visiting and sick and claire was eaing octopuses? Wow...time flies here too!

Quinn was pretty much always active though...good luck! She's still always active. I think you'll have VERY full hands in a few months! Maybe we'll move back sooner to help out! :) Quinn likes to pick up toys...and dump out toys...and pick them up again...and dump them out and run away. :p

Yes, I wonder how active (after birth) this one will be compared to Claire! You'll have a lot on your hands that's for sure!
