A Sweet Party!

Claire had a candy themed party for her 5th birthday. On Sunday she had 8 of her friends over to celebrate. They all had a great time, but wow, 10 little girls have a lot of energy!
Decorations included a candy table. As the girls were leaving they were able to visit the "sweet shop" and fill their favor bags with candy and treats.

We started the party by making fruit loop necklaces. Not many of the girls had any "beads" left on their necklaces by the end of the party!
They played "hot candy" (hot potato) only I was concerned about hurt feelings from getting eliminated, so when the girls got eliminated, they got to pick a prize.
They played "pin the gumball in the gumball machine." This was a fun one.
One last game was a relay race, where they had to walk a certain distance keeping a gumball balanced on a spoon. They had fun, but didn't get the race part of it. Maybe competitiveness is still a few years away.
And per Claire's request, she had to have a pinata. Claire and I tried to make one. We got the shell made, but when it came to decorating it, I failed. So I ended up just buying one at the last minute. Everyone got a few chances to hit it.

 And finally cupcakes!

And presents!
