Christmas Sickness

It all started a week ago with Claire coming down with a very high temp. This girl never gets sick and I can count on one hand how many times in 5 years that she has had a fever. So it was very unusual. She was fevery and lethargic all day. But by the next day, while she was still running a very low-grade fever, she was back to her normal self. We had 2 days of normal, before it hit Grace. And it hit her hard. Spiking a sky-high fever that wasn't responding to medicine, a horrible cough, and just general miserableness. So I took her in on Thursday and (after more than 2 horrible hours in the clinic) they found pneumonia. Of course, Nate was at work through all of this. Poor little thing has been pretty miserable and of course not sleeping well at night.

On Christmas Eve, we did take her to church. None of us wanted to miss it and we figured it was only an hour. Yeah, we probably should have just stayed home. Grace, who is normally really good in church, did not want to be there. But we made it through the service and I hope we didn't annoy too many people with the crying and whining. Here are the girls all dressed up for Christmas Eve service.

There is no such thing as an annoying child on Christmas Eve. Especially one as cute as either of those little girls.

She looks really good for feeling yucky! Hopefully she's feeling better now.
