The annual Frosty picture at dance class.
The gift exchange.
At the end of their dance Christmas party, their teacher was making some end the the year announcements. She announced, "Class, this will be my last day as your teacher." To which Claire cheered...loudly. And the teacher was clearly a little flustered. And I was mortified. What I know, but what was obviously not clear to everyone else, was that Claire was excited, not really because this teacher was leaving, but because she knew it meant her old teacher was finally coming back.
The preschool teacher Ms. H, the fabulous one Claire has had for the last 2 years, has been on 3 months of maternity leave (well 1 month of actual maternity leave and 2 months of bedrest prior to that.) While this substitute teacher is experienced, she is used to teaching older competitive dancers, not recreational preschool dancers. Claire is really looking forward to Ms. H coming back in January.
Claire finished up all her classes for the year this week. Hopefully we'll still stay busy enough with holiday things to keep her from getting bored. Otherwise it's going to be a long 2 1/2 weeks.

I actually giggled thinking about Claire cheering at the teacher's announcement--and how mortified you must have felt!
