Oh boy!

As per our tradition, we went shopping for a baby outfit after our ultrasound this morning....

We had a great ultrasound tech. She explained everything in such detail and told us about all the abnormalities that they check for. I didn't realize there are so many things that could be wrong...and it's such a feeling of relief to hear that everything about our little boy looks normal. I have an appointment next week with my doctor to go over the "official" results, but obviously anything major has been ruled out. Baby was measuring at 11 oz, and by his size my due date should be 8 days earlier. The doctor will decide whether or not to change my due date, but since both of my girls came a little early, I don't think it will make much difference.

A BOY! Wow. I was totally, without a doubt, expecting another girl. I had been expecting a girl from the moment we found out I was pregnant. And to be honest, I started crying when she told us it was a boy. Disappointment is not the right word, just mostly shock (and hormones.) I get girls. I know how to do girls. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to be having a boy, happy to be able to experience the other side, and happy that Nate gets his son. It's just that I had been picturing our family with 3 little girls for so long that it's just going to take a little while to process this new family picture.

Now it's time to start going through all of our baby stuff to see what we might need. I have a feeling this little guy may just have to deal with a little pink. :)

Congratulations on the exciting news! I think it's hard not to cry when you find out no matter what you were expecting!

Congrats, that is VERY exciting! I totally understand your feeling about boys-I had the same thoughts when I found out about Harvey after already having a girl.
Now after being on the other side, I would love a whole bunch of boys--they are a bit crazy at times, but love to cuddle and really love their moms-it's totally awesome. and it's pretty typical according to my friends with boys.

Another bonus, you can embrace the blue-- an all new side of decorating and clothes shopping! :)

Exciting! I would have felt the same way too...a bit of a state of shock, right? He will be such a loved little guy!

Well, you know where to go if you need advice on boys!

Congrats again!
